P8 Modular Summary Term 6


‘Sports Day ‘activities. Kwik cricket practise for our trip to West Malling Cricket Club on June 15th.


Continuing our topic of ‘The Community’ , writing, reading, researching and discussing our learning about the local community. Topic centered  elements will include places we visit, historical and geographical aspects and story writing. In addition, guided reading twice weekly, home reading books and scheme , recipe writing and shopping lists to support cooking lessons.


Problem solving (Friday’s), Shape, Space and Measure (Monday’s shopping trip/cookery lessons), number system and calculation methods.


The Community. The surrounding area of the school and it’s geography/history. Experiments with plants that grow within our local community.


Communicating with people in our community. Labelling areas within our environment and re-creating places we visit such as a cafe/shop.

Cooking/topic/accessing the community.

Preparing, buying and cooking all different kinds of local produce. Visiting a farm /farm shop to pick strawberries and explore other locally grown fruit and vegetables. A trip to a local Castle, possibly Hever, mid-way through term 6 to cement learning.


Recipe searches, maths on-line. Researching our community.


Well-being and emotions. Friendship and class rules.
